Founded in 2015 by Ms. Anda Leonard, a Master Trainer who’s goal was to address behavioral challenges and disparities among youth through a wellness-focused lens, and served over 55 schools across Southern California, Title I, BSAP-identified, and high-need campuses in LAUSD, CUSD, and multiple other school districts.

Our fully credentialed physical education curriculum was created for grades TK - 6th.

In 2018, Mrs. Leonard led Gil Garcetti Learning Academy—a school long unable to pass fitness assessments—through a complete transformation. That year, pregnant with her daughter, she helped the school pass for the first time in years. That’s grit. That’s leadership. That’s UFIT.

UFIT became an organization of talented, like minded individuals that are passionate and experienced in the world of physical education and sports.

Since then we have assisted in increasing student attendance and engagement, particularly among Black students, English Learners, and other priority subgroups, and successfully implemented programming that integrates physical education, SEL practices in both structured sports and unstructured recess environments.

Built a diverse team of 50+ trained coaches and educators, reflecting the communities we serve and consistently praised for their cultural responsiveness, and maintained full compliance with all California education and labor requirements, including fingerprinting, HR, and reporting.
